The Amarnath Yatra by Helicopter Route
The Amarnath Yatra by helicopter offers pilgrims a convenient and comfortable
way to visit the Amarnath shrine. This tour package allows visitors to explore
the beautiful sites of Srinagar and seek the blessings of the Almighty.
The helicopter service drops pilgrims directly at the Panjtarni Helipad, which
is the last rest stop before the 6-km trek to the Amarnath cave shrine. This
route is specifically designed to cater to the needs of all devotees, including
the elderly and less mobile, ensuring they can complete the Yatra without
difficulty.
Regardless of whether you choose the Baltal or Pahalgam route, the helicopter
will take you to Panjtarni. The Baltal route is shorter and thus more
cost-effective, as the flight from Srinagar is shorter compared to the longer
Pahalgam route.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration, on the orders of the Ministry of Home
Affairs, has made arrangements for direct helicopter service from Srinagar to
Panchtarni, making the Amarnath pilgrimage more accessible.
Pilgrims can also opt to reach Panchtarni by foot, pony, or palanquin from
either the Baltal or Pahalgam routes, which are over 61 km long. The Baltal
route is around 15 km from the holy cave, while the Pahalgam route is
approximately 46 km.
